WHAT ARE THE FEES FOR MEDIATION?

At The Divorce and Family Mediation Center there are never any up front payments.  No retainer is required!  The goal of mediation is to keep it affordable.  All initial telephone inquires are free of charge and strictly confidential. The parties pay for the costs of mediation sessions at the time of each session.  The cost is $200 per hour, billed on half hour increments of $100, however all sessions are billed at a minimum of one hour.  Couples share the costs of the sessions, or the parties can mediate how the payments will be divided between them.  Payment methods can either be check, cash, credit or debit cards.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE LENGTH OF MEDIATION?

Mediation takes between two and five one hour sessions on average.  More complicated matters, or matters where there is extreme conflict may take longer.  Because it is a client-centered process, the couple controls the detail that they want in their agreements, which may effect the length of time for completion.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO DRAFT THE AGREEMENT?

The average cost to have your mediated agreement drafted is approximately $800.  The actual fee shall be quoted at the end of the mediation process.  The cost for drafting the Agreement is paid, in advance, at the time that the couple desires to go forward with the drafting process.  In situations where the couple elects to have their individual attorneys draft the Agreement, the cost may be more, and the couple will need to consult with their individual attorneys with respect to their fees.
